Hammond Selected as Award Winning City for National Night Out Participation

Janet Venecz, Councilwoman-at-large and President of Hammond Community Watch is proud to announce that the City of Hammond has been selected as a National Award Winner for its outstanding participation in the 33rd Annual National Night Out.

The award is presented by the National Association of Town Watch, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the communities in which we live through an established network of law enforcement agencies, neighborhood watch groups, civic groups, state and regional crime prevention associations and volunteers across the nation.

The City of Hammond is one of 32 cities across the country with a population of 50,000 – 100,000 to win this award. “We work very hard organizing and facilitating National Night Out,” stated Councilwoman Venecz. “I’m very proud of the work we do.”
