Job Title: Jean Shepherd Center/Dowling Park Manager

Salary: $45,000.00 – $47,000.00 per year/full-time

    • College degree in related field or previous management experience preferred
    • Knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures
    • Ability to coordinate activities with other staff members
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to deal tactfully with department personnel as well as the general public
    • Knowledge of departmental policy and procedure
    • Must be computer literate

    Job Duties

    Jean Shepherd Center:

    • Promotes, plans, coordinates and supervises all assigned center events
    • Promotes, plans, coordinates and schedules use of the center and its grounds in accordance with approved policies and procedures
    • Manages center to insure center operations are financially self-supporting
    • Prepares budget estimates based on anticipated needs of the center
    • Responsible for planning, development and implementation coordination of center maintenance and capital improvement programs
    • Recommends written policies and procedures for center utilization
    • Maintains records of all center activities

    Dowling Park Athletic Complex and Riverside Park Complex:

    • Quote and approve all rentals
    • Manage the scheduling of all the fields
    • Manage all seasonal/part-time employees, including scheduling and monitoring hour limits
    • Work closely with Purdue University Northwest and local high schools as well as other rental customers
    • Manage all concessions and field maintenance employees
    • Ordering of all concessions and field supplies
    • Oversee all financials
    • On-call for events
    • Performs related duties as required

    • Reports to Parks Department Administrator
    • Coordinates personnel requirements with other staff members

Position will be posted internally from January 18, 2017 until January 24, 2017. If the position is not filled internally it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than 10 days.
