Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. announces that the City of Hammond is ranked 22 in the top 50 fixer cities with SeeClickFix. According to SeeClickFix in 2015, 584,000+ issues were fixed on SeeClickFix by their partners across America and the world. Rating higher than Hammond are Chicago, IL; Oakland, CA; Richmond, VA; Washington, DC; Detroit, MI; and Houston, TX, just to name a few.
SeeClickFix is a communications platform for citizens to report non-emergency issues, and governments to track, manage, and reply–ultimately making communities better through transparency, collaboration, and cooperation.
The City of Hammond started working with SeeClickFix two years ago. The Hammond 311 app is free and gives our residents another avenue to reporting a problem. The app uses GPS to identify your location and gives you a list of common quality of life issues to select from. It will also allow you to snap a photo to add to your service request. Reports are automatically sent to our 311 system and routed to city departments for resolution. You will be able to follow your issue from the time it is reported until it is resolved. The mobile app can also be used to report such issues as abandoned vehicles, graffiti, damaged trees, and tall weeds and grass.
“I am very pleased that the City of Hammond was ranked so high,” stated Mayor McDermott. “I encourage all our residents to use the Hammond 311 app.”
