Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are pleased to announce the arrival of Midland Metal Products into Hammond. Creating a business-friendly atmosphere in Hammond and fostering strong relationships with its local businesses is a priority to Mayor McDermott and his Economic Development team. “Our economic development team has worked hard over the past 15 years to help businesses, large and small, relocate to Hammond,” stated Mayor McDermott. “Midland Metal Products is a great company from Illinois who saw Hammond’s potential and how it could support their growth in the future. Plus, having them move into the former Lear building right away meant there was not a large industrial building sitting vacant in Hammond for long, a perfect indicator that Hammond is doing great.”
“This move to Hammond, IN gives us the opportunity to further optimize our production processes, so we remain on the cutting edge of metal fabrication as we move towards our company’s 100th anniversary,” said Midland Metals Owner, BJ McDonald. “We are thrilled.”
The ribbon-cutting will be on Tuesday, October 15th at 2:00pm. The ceremony will take place at 1401 165th Street, Hammond, IN 43623. The public is invited.
