Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., the Department of Community Development, the Black History Coalition Committee and the Hammond Human Relations Commission, will host a Virtual 2021 Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. The theme will be “2021 Leadership in Education” and will be honoring African American Principals and Assistant Principals. The honorees are:
- Yolanda Bracey, Principal, Lincoln Elementary School
- Johnny Goodlow, Jr., Principal, Hammond High School
- Marilyn Hampton, Assistant Principal, Maywood Elementary School
- Dameca Harrison, Assistant Principal, Clark Middle and High School
- Angela Coretta Johnson, Principal, Eggers Middle School
- Mia Jones, Assistant Principal, Eggers Middle School
- Malline Morris, Assistant Principal, Hammond High School
- Tierra Redmond, Assistant Principal, Maywood Elementary School
- Le Terra Smith, Principal, Maywood Elementary School
