INDOT notified the City of Hammond today of the revised closure date for Calumet Avenue between Michigan Street and Sibley Street in Hammond for Thursday, October 24 through Friday, October 25, 2018, to complete a bridge deck pour over the Indiana Harbor Belt and State Street. The closure was expected to occur earlier this week but the Contractor, Dunnet Bay, pushed the closure to Thursday and Friday.
Last week’s closure that was also planned for two days was reopened early because work was completed ahead of schedule. INDOT expects the bridge on Calumet Avenue to fully reopen two lanes of traffic each way over the winter and resume the work on the east bridge deck in the Spring.
