The Hammond Common Council passed Ordinance 9585 establishing a municipal identification card program for Hammond residents. The municipal identification cards will be accepted and recognized by all city departments and affiliated entities as a valid form of identification. Residents must complete a municipal identification card application and submit to the Law Department (City Hall 3rd floor) for approval. Once approved, the Clerk's office will issue the ID card.
How to get a Municipal ID Card
- Download and print the application below. Applications are also available at the City of Hammond Law Department (City Hall 3rd floor).
- Submit your completed application to the Law Department (City Hall 3rd floor)
- The Law Department will review your application and notify you when it has been approved.
- Return to Hammond City Hall Clerks Office (1st floor) where you will be photographed and issued your Municipal ID. The card fee will be collected by the Clerks Office.
