Tree Lighting Ceremony

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. has announced the 2023 Tree Lighting Ceremony to kick off the Holiday season will be held on Friday, November 24th in front of Hammond City Hall, 5925 Calumet Avenue.

This year, kids’ crafts beginning at 4:30 P.M. until 5:30 P.M. inside City Hall and live reindeer from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will promptly begin at 6:00 P.M. With performances by The Hammond Academy of Performing Arts Choir and Dance Team. Santa will also be there for photo opportunities.

Parking is available behind Hammond City Hall.
