Job Requirements:
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Must have valid Indiana driver’s license and be insurable
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to perform basic maintenance of large trucks
- Knowledge of city streets and parks
- Knowledge of departmental operations and safety rules and regulations
- Will be on call for emergency weather conditions
- Required to join union in 30 days – probationary period is 90 days
Job Duties:
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Responsible for maintenance and grounds of parks and park buildings as assigned
- Responsible for light maintenance of truck
- Performs other duties as required
Hiring will be done in accordance with Hammond City Ordinance #8620 as it pertains to the residency requirement.
Position will be posted internally from February 26, 2025 thru March 4, 2025. If the position is not filled internally, it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) working days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than 10 days.
