Hammond’s College Bound wins national mayors’ award — again
The city of Hammond has been awarded a “2016 City Livability” award for its College Bound program by the U.S. Conference of Mayors at its annual conference in Indianapolis, marking the second time the program has snagged the prestigious honor.
July 4th Celebration at Wolf Lake
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are proud to announce the details of the annual Fourth of July Celebration at Wolf Lake. The annual Naturalization Ceremony will begin July 4th at 6:00pm at The Pav. The Bill Porter Orchestra is guaranteed to put you in a patriotic mood when they perform after the ceremony’s completion (approximately 7:30pm). Fireworks wrap the evening at approximately 9:30 pm.

HAMMOND, IN. – Hammond Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. has rescheduled the February 24, 2016 Mayor’s Night Out in the 5th District that was canceled due to a snow storm.
Hammond Police Open Safety Village for Summer Months
Beginning June 8, 2016 and continuing every Wednesday and Friday through August 12, 2016, Hammond police officers will staff the Safety Village located behind the Hammond Civic Center at 5825 Sohl Avenue from 10am-2pm.
